About the place:

The Chansal pass or the Chansal Valley, links Kwar and Rohru (Chirgaon) in the Shimla disctrict in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The pass sits atop Chansal Peak, which is situated at 4520 meters (14,830 feet), is the highest peak in Shimla. The pass remains open from May to October and is covered with snow for the rest of the year. 

The Chansal Pass is a 180 kilometers road from Shimla, accessible from March to October. Chansal is a mountain range that cuts the Dodra Kawar Valley from the Rohru area. Its peaks reach 17,000 feet (5200 meters) and can be accessed from Chansal pass.

Itinerary:

– Day 1: Morning reach base camp Larot.
– Day 2: Ride for Damkuri Thatch.
– Day 3: Ride for Chansal Top.
– Day 4: Ride for Saru Lake.
– Day 5: Rock climbing practice.

Inclusions:

– Accommodation (Hotel/Camp)
– Three Time Meals (Veg)
– Bonfire (Open bonfire if there is no rain)
– First Aid Kits
– Trained & Experienced Instructor

Exclusions:
Any travel and transportation, expenses of personal nature and any other expenses which have not been specified above.

What to Carry:

– One pair of track t-shirt and full trouser.
– One or two pair of thermal wear.
– One woolen / wind-proof jacket.
– One woolen cap / head wrap, one pair extra socks and inner wear.
– Tracking shoes.
– Sunglasses, water bottle.
– Head lamp or torch.
– Sunscreen lotion, lip balm, person medical kit.
– All the above items should be packed in a rucksack.

Activities:

Major Activities: Trekking/hiking/River crossing/Rock climbing.
Minor Activities: Ice breaking games.
Morning & evening fun: Bonfire (on last evening), singing and music fun during bonfire gathering.

Important Information:

– All activities are subject to favorable weather conditions or else there is a risk of injury. Final call will be taken by our outdoor leaders on the day of the program itself and we request you to respect that.
– 1 Teacher will be complimentary with every group of 20 students.
– 1 Agency/company staff will be complimentary with one group.
– Extra teachers / agency staff will be charged as the policy / per person per night.
